An Inside Look
Insights and reflections from our team.
What I love the most about Summit is the incredible, caring, talented team we have built. Everyone who is on the Summit team is here because they have demonstrated a commitment to our five core values:
- Being exceptionally competent in all aspects of patient and client care
- Being exceptionally reliable for our patients, clients, and team
- Providing honest and compassionate communication to our patients, client, and team
- Strong moral principles, working with integrity & fairness
- Respect and compassion to clients, patients, and team members
Everyone on our team exemplifies these values, creating a team environment that is safe, empathetic, and drives you to success – whatever that looks like for YOU.”
“I was a client here first with my cats, and what I loved was the setup of the room, the compassion of the people who work here, and I just fell in love so much that I started working here. I love helping cats have a Fear Free experience at Summit.”
“I really like how the doctors take their time with the patients and how relaxing they make the situation and how communicative they are with the owners of the patients. It’s my favorite part because it makes the clients calm and relaxed, and when they check out, they leave with a smile.”
“What I love about Summit is that we offer Confidence Building Visits at no extra charge for our patients. The purpose of our Confidence Building Visits is to work on cooperative care techniques to make their vet visits less stressful.”
“I love that we embrace each other’s creativity. We’re all artists in our own way, whether it’s crocheting, knitting, painting, whatever it may be, we all embrace each other’s creativity. The other thing that I love is that we have so many resources for mental health and wellbeing within the practice itself. We embrace each individual’s unique perspective, not just our wellbeing, but also who we are as individuals.”
“My favorite thing is the support staff. Without them, we would be nothing! And everyone here is fantastic, they want to learn, they get to learn, they are exceeding expectations in terms of their learning, and everyone is kind and gives grace when we need it. Technicians and support staff are the best part of this place.”
“My favorite thing here is the doctors. We have a lot of doctors – surgeons, GP, urgent care, mobile, and we just got laparoscopic surgery! We’re always learning new things from everyone’s background & variety. All the doctors are just very nice and very easy to work with. Even when I mess up, I never worry that I’m going to get yelled at – and that’s really great and hard to find in this industry.”
“One thing I love about Summit is our Certificates of Bravery. We give these to patients who show a lot of anxiety or stress coming in, but show bravery and end up extremely happy at the end.”
“I love that they really value our mental health. This field can take a toll on your mental health, so we have lots of employee resources to help us out and we’re all very understanding of each other. We have employee resources posted all around the clinic, and we also have pins that one of our other LVTs Amanda provided for us to wear on our scrubs during the hard days to indicate to each other that we need a little extra grace.”
“My favorite thing about Summit is our staff quiet room. We can come and have a relaxing time after a stressful event. We have massage chairs, a bean bag, a jar of chocolate, and noise machine – it’s a great place to take a moment to wind down.”
“We have really strong Continuing Education programs here, where all of our technicians & assistants get Fear Free Certified. Not only do we get Fear Free, there’s a variety of other topics we learn about like blood draws, how to do procedures properly, team building, and more. The commitment to education & the support we have for our team to advance our skills whether or not we’re in school to become a technician or doctor.”
“I like how friendly & considerate the team is, we work really well together between the front & back, and everyone’s really nice.”
“Something I love about Summit is that we always have fresh flowers around the clinic to brighten the client’s days.”
“Everyone at SVC is a true team player and wants to help each other out of the kindness of their hearts versus responsibility/duty. “
“I really enjoy that SVC facilitates a low-stress environment – not only for the clients and pets that come in, but also for the staff. Working in a clinic that respects and empowers their employees is a huge refresher in a field that is typically riddled with derision and trauma. “
